The Sundevils are a squad of Queensland's most elite athletes. Fielding men's, women's and colts' teams the Sundevils are a dominant force within the Australian League! Only the very dedicated and talented of Queensland’s players get the chance to take the field in the maroon and gold. Queensland Sundevils have multiple Australian representatives with some even continuing to the United States of America to play in the NFL.

The Original Sundevils developed in 1987 and played their first game against New Zealand. The Australian Gridiron scene than grew to develop a New South Wales team to play the Sundevils in 1988. To learn more about our Sundevils visit our wiki.



2016 has already proven to be another strong year for GQ, with both defending championship Men’s and Women’s state teams taking out the win once more in their respective national tournaments.

This year Gridiron Queensland has great pride in our Colts’ players that made the Australian Outback team. Traveling to Harbin, China for a four game round in the IFAF U-19 World Cup series. Australia finished with a great result of 2 out of 4 games. Queensland representatives included Lachlan Bell, Jack Capewell, Bryce Coulson, Reece Fearnside, Tyler Ferdinands, Jason Gough, Jordan Hulls, Benjamin Karikari, John Karikari, Dylan Menti, William Outridge, Nicholas Ray, Caleb Spinks, Lachlan Torrisi and Daniel Wilkins.

Our Junior Sundevils were successful in defending their National Championship earier this year, with many of them making the Colts’ National team.
